Jan is a mind, body & spirit health professional in Denver, Colorado specializing in meditation and holistic health.

CHALLENGE: Since Jan works for herself, she wanted a logo that represented her as an individual as well as a b2c company.  She resonates deeply with butterflies and the freedom and metamorphosis they represent and so wanted to incorporate that imagery into her new logo and branding somehow.

SOLUTION: After vectorizing her actual signature, I used the ‘motion’ of butterfly wings as inspiration instead of the literal representation of a butterfly.

The counters in the ‘J’ in her signature became “wings” and when used in repetition with varying tints of blue, create an implied fluttering movement. This mark works well on its own and paired with the signature.

As a bonus, we created a business card that doubles as a class punch card.
