The City of Lone Tree, Colorado
CHALLENGE: This budget book details key budget initiatives for the upcoming year from public works projects and new construction to departmental information and community and cultural outreach. Comprised of 6 main sections, the book is mostly text with data displayed as graphs and tables. Each year a design template is created, incorporating elements outside of their brand standards. The use of city photos is also highly encouraged by the finance team.
ROLE: As project manager, I communicate city department reps, making sure we stay on time and budget. As lead designer, I’m also responsible for the design and layout, color palette and other visuals, such as how the financials will be visually communicated.
ASSETS: The final product is provided as a printed, spiral-bound book for the city staff and government officials, as well as an interactive pdf made available to all city residents. In this version, each section is bookmarked for easy navigation but in the printed version, tabbed dividers are used (not shown here).
2020 was the city’s 25th anniversary. I created a badge reflecting the iconic city skyline. It was used on all city material for the year.
